Pepe Jeans / Hackett London

The company

The year 1973 saw the birth of the Pepe Jeans London brand. The success of the fashion brand quickly spread throughout Europe, and after a few years it had also conquered America. Today Pepe Jeans is one of the world's leading brands of denim. It sells not only jeans, but also fashion lines for women, men and children as well as its own shoe line in sixty countries. The successful brand is sold in a total of over 7000 outlets and boasts more than 300 stores internationally, employing more than 2000 people.

Hackett London was established just a few years after Pepe Jeans London in 1979. Initially it sold only second-hand clothing, but the company’s success meant it grew quickly, so collections of its own were soon added and sold. Since the 1990s Hackett has increasingly followed a strategy of expansion abroad. Hackett is currently represented by 77 shops in 16 countries and is the biggest independently managed business in the UK.

Both clothing brands belong to the Spanish company Torreal.

Challenges and solutions

The German stores of Pepe Jeans London and Hackett London were due for a new IT/TC provider. It was not only cost reduction that was important, but greater bandwidth for online services was also crucial.

A location analysis by Seidel & Friends Consulting, which looked at which providers could offer the necessary bandwidths and infrastructure, resulted in a recommendation for Telefónica O2 Germany and Deutsche Telekom. Seidel & Friends Consulting took over responsibility for the transfer of existing connections and the VPN connection.

Even after the assignment had been completed, Seidel & Friends Consulting was able to offer further services. These included not only a quick and creative port of call for technical changes, but also support with commercial matters. As part of a close relationship with those responsible for IT in the head office in Barcelona and London, the current status reports are regularly communicated as before.
